William Allen Jones' THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW is a new musical based on the classic tale by Washington Irving. The show premiered October 12-14, 2018 to much fanfare at the Historic Mishler Theatre in Central Pennsylvania. The result was sold-out houses, artistic acclaim, and rousing applause. The musical was produced through Altitude Entertainment and P&J Productions and was directed by the show's composer, William Allen Jones.
The official Cast Recording was released on October 12, 2018 on iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify and Pandora. The soundtrack was produced by William Allen Jones with musical arrangement and orchestration by Nils Elders and William Allen Jones and vocal arrangements by Dana Cooper and William Allen Jones.
The inaugural cast included Tony Demi as Ichabod Crane, Ian Brumbaugh as Brom Bones, Ellie Irwin as Katrina Van Tassel, Rodney Berkey as Baltus Van Tassel and Gabbi Lechak as Hetty Smythe. The show was choreographed by Chelsea Rae Moses, stage managed by Kolby Wasnick, costumed by Darlene Mattio, with hair and makeup by Jamie Brokaw.
In October of 2019, William Allen Jones' THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW was produced at the Irvington Theater, Irvington, New York as an official part of the Bicentennial Celebration of the original classic story, "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. Again, audiences were delighted with the show receiving acclaim from the very area that gave birth to the Legend. In October of 2020, William Allen Jones' THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW will be produced in the Dallas, Texas area with more performances to be announced.
Set against the backdrop of colonial America, William Allen Jones' THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW infuses new life into the classic tale of Ichabod Crane and The Headless Horseman with memorable rock and pop songs and unforgettable ballads.
